This time, it’s Adina Howard’s 90s anthem “Freak Like Me” getting the full treatment. As part of the complete rework, the always sublime Venessa Jackson takes care of the vocals, adding the right amount of soulful depth and attitude, in keeping with the original. The iconic P-Funk riff is also present and correct, effortlessly blended with strings, guitar hooks, horn stabs and funk bass over the 4/4 rhythm to create an infectious disco jam.
